Brampton Firefighters Hold Tsunami Fundraiser at Mall

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 6, 2005) - Brampton Fire and
Emergency Services will be at the Bramalea City Centre the next two
weekends conducting a boot drive to raise money for the Tsunami Relief
effort in South Asia.

In conjunction with Bramalea City Centre, firefighters will be
collecting cash donations in the mall's Centre Court from noon to 5 p.m.
on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 8 and 9, and Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 15
and 16. Brampton Fire will also park a fire pumper outside the Dixie
Road-Queen Street mall during the fundraiser.

Smokin' 2005 firefighter calendars will be available for a minimum $10
donation to the Tsunami Relief effort.

The City of Brampton began accepting donations for the South Asian
relief effort Jan. 1. Donation boxes are available at the City Hall
Information Kiosk and at all four branches of the Brampton Public
Library. Donation boxes will be available at the Heritage Theatre and
Lester B. Pearson Theatre starting Jan.10.

Donations can also be mailed directly to the Canadian Red Cross National
Office, 170 Metcalfe St., Ste. 300, Ottawa, Ont. K2P-2P2. Make all
cheques through the City or directly to the Red Cross payable to the
"Canadian Red Cross" with the memo reading South East Asia Earthquake
and Tsunami Relief fund.
