Brigadier Gold 'TSX-V:BRG' Begins Drill Program at McCrea, Kokotow Gold Properties

Drilling Follows Up on Positive Geophysics Program Completed in Late 2006

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 16, 2007) - Brigadier Gold Limited (TSX VENTURE:BRG) today announced it has begun a drill program at its Albert Kokotow and McCrea gold properties located near Larder Lake, Ontario. Drilling is planned on several anomalous zones on both properties that were identified by an Induced Polarization survey completed in the fourth quarter of 2006. In addition to these anomalies, drilling will test the historic McCrea pits where channel samples have returned assays up to 8.6 g/t gold over 0.60 metres.

"Our goal in 2007 is to aggressively explore our gold properties and we're excited to start off the year by drilling these two highly prospective projects," said Herb Kokotow, President and CEO. "The McCrea property has never been drilled despite positive results from surface exploration, while grab samples from the Albert Kokotow property have graded up to 41.1 g/t gold and drill results include 3.4 g/t gold over 5.0 metres, including 6.17 g/t gold over 2.0 metres."

The McCrea Gold Property is located just east of Kirkland Lake, Ont. near the town of Larder Lake, and was most recently examined in 1990 by Gold Fields Canadian Mining Ltd. Located adjacent to the McCrea Gold Property, the geological setting of the Kokotow property is similar to that of the Kerr-Addison Mine. Channel samples grading up to 9.78 g/t gold over 1.71 metres have been returned, and a 600 metre drill program in 2002 intersected the above-noted assay of 6.17 g/t gold over 2.0 metres.

Dr. Derek McBride, P.Eng. and Mr.Laurence G. Hobbs, P.Eng., Qualified Persons under National Instrument 43-101, are supervising the current drill program.
