British Columbia Pharmacy Association: Media Advisory; Pharmacy Conference to Address Emergency Preparedness & National Pharmaceutical Strategy, May 11-May 13, 2006

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 11, 2006) - On Friday, May 12, 2006, Pharmacists will be congregating in Victoria to take part in the New Horizons and Beyond British Columbia Pharmacy Association Pharmacy Conference.

There will be a number of panel discussion and presentations happening over the course of the weekend. The newly appointed Assistant Deputy Minister for PharmaCare, Bob Nakagawa, will sit on the panel discussing the National Pharmaceutical Strategy and Wayne Dauphinee, Executive Director Emergency Management Branch, Ministry of Health will be on a panel discussing Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Planning in British Columbia.

The conference focuses on all aspects of modernization, innovation and change that pharmacists and the pharmacy industry are facing. Topics to be covered include: emergency preparedness, new drug therapies, abused antibiotic use, empowering patients through interactive care, implementing clinical service programs in practices and certification in INR testing.

The conference will take place May 11th to 13th at the Hotel Grand Pacific.
