Build Hope for Uganda and Get Great Jeans at a Great Price at Big Rock Brewery

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 26, 2009) - Big Rock Brewery and are pleased to present the first annual BootyFest in support of The Ssubi Foundation, a Calgary not-for-profit organization that works toward alleviating poverty through educational initiatives and micro-financing in Uganda.

Bootyfest will provide a number of designer brand jeans - including Rock and Republic and William Rast - for sale at amazing prices, live music by Big Rock Untapped artist Noel Johnson, a silent auction, snacks and beer by Big Rock.

Professional fitters will help you select the best pair of jeans for your booty (and don't forget to check your back pocket for a coupon as some pairs will be free).

There's a silent auction - including training and fitness deals to get your booty looking its best. Local celebrities will be on hand to collect cheques to the Ssubi Foundation the back pocket of their jeans. You've never seen a fundraiser quite like Bootyfest. All proceeds will go toward The Ssubi Foundation.

Ssubi means hope in Luganda - the main language in Uganda. The Ssubi Foundation was founded in 2006 to provide educational support to school-aged children, micro-financing to their families and help build schools throughout Uganda

Phillip Ndugga - one of the founders of Ssubi - grew up in Uganda, where he was the recipient of a sponsorship program that enabled him to go to school. Philip understands first hand the importance of education and The Ssubi Foundation was created to ensure all children have the same opportunity. Phillip and his family came to Canada in 2000.

This year the Ssubi Foundation will continue to work with schools and families in northern Uganda, where communities are rebuilding and healing after a 20 year civil war. In 2008, the foundation re-built the Lilly kindergarten and Primary school in Kampala. The low income school was scheduled for closure as the structure was unsafe.

The Ssubi Foundation operates in a non-religious and non-partisan manner. The foundation is run by four enthusiastic Calgarian-based directors and an exceptional Operations Manager in Kampala, Uganda.
