Built To Spill Confirm Headlining Tour

"Hindsight" Video, Directed by Bob Odenkirk, to Premiere on Pitchfork.com on September 1

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - August 30, 2010) - Built to Spill, fresh off a tour with Kings Of Leon, have confirmed their own headlining tour in support of the current Warner Bros. Records album THERE IS NO ENEMY. Dates kick off this week in Omaha and conclude November 20th in Seattle. All dates are listed below.

Vocalist/guitarist Doug Martsch spent three and a half years writing the songs, which he recorded with bassist Brett Nelson, drummer Scott Plouf, and guitarists Jim Roth and Brett Netson. There Is No Enemy is the band's first album since 2006's You In Reverse. Previous studio albums include 2001's Ancient Melodies of the Future, 1999's Keep It Like A Secret, and their major-label debut, 1997's Perfect From Now On. In 2010 Built to Spill still remain an influential force in compositionally intelligent, lyrically thoughtful, melodic, guitar-centric rock music:

"Built To Spill CEO Dough Martsch is alt-rock's Thomas Pynchon, holed up in a remote studio and issuing immaculate artworks when he damn well pleases. Their components are all about simple, melodic beauty, writ large -- prog rock for pop purists." -- Rolling Stone

"Boise's answer to Crazy Horse... they still flourish."  -- Spin

"Built To Spill has been leading the resurgence of indie-guitar rock virtuoso for 20 years now. Doug Martsch conducts an orchestra of feedback like a lightning god bringing the storm. As ever, Martsch proves capable of anthropomorphizing a bent string and imbuing it with more emotion than many bands' vocals and lyrics." -- Alternative Press

"Subtly excellent an obviously influential. If you're not excited about Built To spill in 2009, you're living in the past." -- Magnet Magazine

"In addition to touring, the band recently filmed a video for the track "Hindsight" from THERE IS NO ENEMY in Los Angeles and directed by BTS friend and fan Bob Odenkirk, co-creator and co-star of HBO's Mr. Show and currently starring in AMC's Breaking Bad. Of everything he has directed, scenes for Mr. Show, pilots, feature films, shorts for the inter-web, Odenkirk is particularly proud of the "Hindsight" shortie because he loves the song so much AND he believes it is incontrovertible proof that time travel is possible with the right mix of music, emotion, and cleverly named gadgets.

The "Hindsight" video clip will make its World Premiere on Pitchfork.com on Wed, Sep 1st, beginning at midnight CT exclusively for 24 hours. Log on and link to www.pitchfork.com to view.
