CANARIE Inc. Appoints New President and CEO

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2008) - On behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. David Steeves, Chair of the Board, is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Guy Bujold as President and CEO of CANARIE Inc. effective October 1, 2008. Current President and CEO, Andrew K. Bjerring has generously agreed to postpone his retirement and continue his role at CANARIE Inc. in the interim.

Mr. Bujold is currently President of the Canadian Space Agency and has held senior executive positions in a number of federal government departments and agencies, including Industry Canada, Finance Canada, Health Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard, and Infrastructure Canada.

Mr. Steeves welcomed Mr. Bujold "as a new leader who will bring to CANARIE substantial experience in strategic planning and tactical implementation as well as strong interpersonal skills that will be critical for a successful transition and to continue to strengthen Canada's Science and Technology platform. As a Board, we look forward to working with him to continue and grow CANARIE's excellence and leadership," he added.
