CCTGA: Trees for Troops Families 2008

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 1, 2008) - On December 5th, the Canadian Christmas Tree Growers Association will present a natural Christmas tree to the families of more than 1000 Canadian troops who are currently serving overseas. Trees will be delivered to 15 Canadian Forces Bases across the country. This includes over 100 trees at each of the following Canadian Forces Bases (CFB): Ottawa, Petawawa, Kingston, Trenton, Edmonton and Comox (BC). There will be a presentation at CFB Petawawa at 2PM Friday December 5th. For the full list please visit the CCTGA's new website

Larry Downey, the president of the CCTGA says: "Canadian Christmas tree growers from across the country appreciate the services and efforts of Canadian troops serving outside of Canada. We can't send trees to Afghanistan and other places, but we can give a Christmas tree to their families here in Canada. It's our way of saying thanks and we're thinking of you."

This is the second year that the CCTGA has given trees to the families of all Canadian troops serving overseas.
