CEO Theodore Craver of Edison International to Discuss Smart Grid at TOWN HALL

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 27, 2010) - Theodore (Ted) F. Craver, Jr., Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edison International, will discuss "The Smart Grid and how it Impacts our Economy, our Environment and our Customers," at TOWN HALL Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel as part of its ongoing CEO Series.

According to Craver, "The electric power business will change more in the next 10 years than it did in the last 100. This change is enabled and accelerated by important advances in technology." In his address, Craver will focus predominantly on the impact a smart, more robust electricity grid will have on the economy, environment and customers.

Craver was elected chairman and chief executive officer of Edison International as of August 1, 2008 and president as of April 1, 2008. Edison International is the parent company of Southern California Edison, one of the nation's largest electric utilities, and Edison Mission Group (EMG), a competitive power generation business and parent company to Edison Mission Energy and Edison Capital.

Prior to assuming his current role, Craver was chairman, president and chief executive officer of EMG, which owns and operates independent power production facilities and provides capital and financial services supporting the growth of energy and infrastructure projects and services. He was elected to that position on January 1, 2005. Previously, Craver was executive vice president of parent company Edison International, and held the position of chief financial officer and treasurer from January 1, 2000, through December 31, 2004.
