CFIA: Allergy Alert-Undeclared Milk in A-Audrey Brand Chocolate Fudge Muffin

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 7, 2007) -

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume A-Audrey brand chocolate fudge muffin described below. The affected product may contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, A-Audrey brand, Chocolate Fudge Muffin, is sold individually in a 160 g plastic bag bearing UPC 7 74821 40901 3. All packages of the affected product which do not declare the presence of milk are affected by this alert.

This product has been distributed in Quebec and Ontario.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

The manufacturer, Patisserie Carvin, Lachine, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
