CGA Ontario Celebrates a Half Century of Leadership

Golden anniversary (1957-2007) celebrated at association's annual conference and upcoming admission to membership and awards ceremony.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2007) - The 2007 year marks the 50th anniversary of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario. On Saturday, November 10, 2007, a record number of new CGAs-985-will be admitted into membership at the A Half Century of Leadership formal admission ceremony. The afternoon also includes the awarding of eight Ontario Distinguished Service awards, one Lorna Henderson Outstanding Mentorship Award and eight national Fellowship designations (FCGA) to Ontario members. Student awards for high academic achievement will also be presented. Chapter Distinguished Service Awards were given out at relevant chapter annual general meetings, earlier this year.

CGA Ontario's annual conference precedes the admission to membership ceremony. On November 8, 2007, the opening ceremonies and keynote session feature Justin Trudeau, speaking on Human Development, Career Development and Training-Foundations for a Better World. On November 9, 2007, delegates will be treated to Sean Wise, who will discuss Entrepreneurship for the Enterprise.

Following is a snapshot of A Half Century of Leadership across Ontario, including local award winners, the number of new (2007), 25-year anniversary and 50-year anniversary CGAs, plus local elected officials. Visit our anniversary website at http://anniversary.cga-ontario.org/
