CHC Helicopter Supports Sick Children at Canuck Place

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 27, 2010) - CHC Helicopter has continued its tradition of supporting the communities in which it operates by donating $20,000 to Canuck Place Children's Hospice.

Canuck Place provides specialized pediatric palliative care for children living with a life-threatening illness and support for their families throughout British Columbia.

Canuck Place is a well equipped medical and therapeutic oasis situated in a calm Vancouver neighborhood close to some of British Columbia's finest hospitals. More than 400 children younger than 19 are currently participating in the Canuck Place program which, free of charge, supports children and their families both medically and emotionally as they deal with the consequences of a life-threatening illness.

"Canuck Place relies heavily on corporate and community donations to fund its annual operating costs. The support of companies such as CHC Helicopter is critical to enable us to provide comfortable and modern facilities to ease the suffering of hundreds of children each year," said Stephani Samaridis, Community Partnerships, Canuck Place Children's Hospice. "We are most grateful for their incredible generosity."

CHC Helicopter's 4200 employees operate more than 270 aircraft in some 35 countries around the world. Each year they raise thousands of dollars for local charitable causes. Money donated by CHC and its employees has supported causes ranging from building infrastructure in Africa to Canadian food banks, shelters and other social services.

"CHC is serious about supporting the communities we serve," said Sylvain Allard, CEO of CHC Helicopter. "CHC's greatest resource is its people and that's why we feel it is important to be engaged in the communities where our staff live."
