CIBT, Inc. Named an Exclusive Resource for Rapid Turnaround of Visa Applications for Americans Traveling to Russia

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwire - September 8, 2008) - CIBT, Inc. (http://www.cibt.com), the world's largest visa and passport expediter, has been named an exclusive agent to help travelers obtain visas for Russia. CIBT was selected as a result of the decision by the Russian Embassy, Washington, D.C. to no longer process any visa applications received via regular or overnight mail effective September 8, 2008. All mailed items received after that time will be either returned or forwarded to CIBT for processing based on the preference of the applicant.

"CIBT is proud to have been chosen by the Russian Embassy to help people in America obtain Russian visas quickly and efficiently," said Jeff Fine, CEO of CIBT. "As the leading processor of visas for globe trotting executives and leisure travelers, CIBT has the knowledge and experience necessary to meet the demands of business people and tourists planning to visit Russia."

On its website, the Consular Division of the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C. has stated that, "In order to streamline and improve the visa obtaining process, as well as for security concerns, the Russian visa section will abandon the practice of processing the visa applications by mail starting September 8, 2008."

The Russian Embassy provides visas and other consular services to travelers living in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

Travel to Russia by both tourists and business executives has increased dramatically. The International Trade Administration reports that more than 317,000 Americans visited Russia in 2007, the last year statistics are available. Travel industry sources indicate that Russian travel has increased at least 10 percent annually due to strong growth by both business and leisure travel to Russia.
