HALIFAX - Aug. 27 - Business professionals from all sectors of the housing industry gathered on the golf course yesterday at the Granite Springs Golf Club to help raise money for Habitat for Humanity - HRM. The annual charity event, hosted by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, raised $27,000 in support of Habitat for Humanity - HRM.

"CMHC is proud to give back to the community and support an organization that shares in our vision of affordable housing," said Carolyn Kavanagh, General Manager of CMHC's Atlantic Business Centre. "As a national gold sponsor for Habitat for Humanity, and the Lead National Sponsor for its Aboriginal Housing Program, CMHC is pleased to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity."

"We are very pleased that Habitat was selected, again this year, to receive the proceeds from this event", said Tina Kelly, President of Habitat for Humanity - HRM. "These funds help us in the building of simple, decent, affordable homes for deserving families," she added.

"Our event was a success once again this year thanks to the support and generosity of our partners and clients. Without their contributions, we would not be able to make this donation to Habitat for Humanity," added Mrs. Kavanagh.
