CNSC Open House

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will be holding an open house in Elliot Lake on May 2 and 3, 2008.

The CNSC licenses facilities such as idle uranium mines and tailings management areas in the Elliot Lake area. CNSC staff will provide information on who we are, what we do and how we regulate existing licensed facilities in the area. There will be both general and site-specific information relating to how the CNSC assesses licensee operations, including information relating to environmental performance and dam construction and stability.

There will be no presentations as the venue is focused on informal discussions with CNSC operations staff.
