CONNECTIONS(TM) Europe Addresses New Solutions to Control Content Delivery to Connected CE

Executive Session Explores New Business Models as More Devices Deliver Web-Like Experiences to the TV

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - April 1, 2010) -  "Bringing the Content," the first interactive panel session at the executive summit CONNECTIONS™ Europe, will tackle the new content challenges that come with the proliferation of connected devices, which will exceed 100 million units worldwide in 2010.

The session takes place April 27 at 10:15 a.m. and will address the question of who will control the display and distribution of content as the adoption of connected game consoles, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, and media servers opens new opportunities for service providers, CE manufacturers, online video providers, and broadcasters.

International research firm Parks Associates will host the Summit on April 27 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam. CONNECTIONS™ Europe sessions will feature consumer research from Parks Associates and focus on key industry issues for digital living technologies and services.

"Nearly 190 million households globally have interactive television services," said Kurt Scherf, session moderator and VP, principal analyst, Parks Associates. "Consumers want to extend the online experience to the TV and other devices throughout the home, and the rise of cloud media is opening new channels for content distribution. We have a panel of expert speakers on 'Bringing the Content' to examine the evolution of interactive services and the business models emerging from new device-content linkages."
