CUPE BC: Kamloops Bill 21 Protest Rally Saturday, Dec. 5

KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 4, 2009) - The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is holding a rally at Riverside Park Bandshell at 12 Noon tomorrow. The union is joining with other workers and community members to call on the provincial government to respect free collective bargaining and return to the table immediately to negotiate a fair contract with B.C.'s 3,500 ambulance paramedics. The paramedics were legislated "back to work" on Nov. 7 while they were in the middle of voting on a contract offer from the government – a shameful first in Canadian labour history.

When: Saturday, December 5, 12 Noon
What: A rally for free collective bargaining
Where: Riverside Park Bandshell, Lorne Street West and Second Avenue
Note: People are encouraged to bring extra winter clothes, to be distributed to those who need them.
