Cadan Resources Corporation: Latest Trench Sampling Confirms Coincident Copper Geochemical and Geophysical Anomaly

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 17, 2008) - CADAN RESOURCES CORPORATION (TSX VENTURE:CNF) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the latest results from its progressive trench sampling in the Cadan copper-gold porphyry prospect that confirms a coincident copper geochemical and geophysical anomaly.

The 838300mE trench over the geophysical anomaly is now 350 metres in a north-south direction with average assay of 516 ppm copper, which is 15 times the local background. The material in the trench is highly oxidized and shows strong relic gossanous fabric sulphide.

These latest assay results over Cadan's copper gold porphyry prospect not only confirms but also extends the area of anomalous copper geochemistry (Attachment A - updated geochemistry and geophysical map).

This was first reported in a news release of June 6, 2007, highlights of which were:

- Sampling in the 838300 mE trench is located within the anomaly area and is considered to be geochemically highly anomalous, being some 15 times the local background for copper at the Cadan Prospect.

- The sampling in the 839400 mE Trench returned an interval of anomalous gold averaging 0.33 g/t gold over 20 metres with gold grades ranging from 0.07 g/t gold to 0.73 g/t gold. According to Ian Cooper, Exploration Manager, the gold in quartz stock-works is located outside the Cadan copper gold porphyry target and may represent a possible "new and separate" gold target in this location.

- Gully #4 trench, located some 90 metres west of the Cadan 838300mE Trench, returned an average of 476 ppm copper over 190 metres of trenching with grades ranging from 156 ppm Copper to 1199 ppm Copper. The Gully # 4 trench is located in a northerly flowing stream which has extended exposure northwards from the trenching area.

The Cadan prospect geology as seen in outcrop and now in trenching supports the geophysical model which indicates a near surface 450 to 900 million tonne body of rock defined by the Induced Polarisation Geophysical Survey (news release dated April 24, 2007).

We are seeing a surface expression of the geophysical anomaly with alteration features including Magnetite (+10%), Actinolite, Biotite, Epidote, Pyrite - vein, breccias and disseminated, traces of chalcopyrite (vein and disseminated) and propylitic altered rocks to north of anomaly.

Photographs showing brecciation unearthed in the trenching and stockwork magnetite - sulphide veining are shown in Attachment B.

Second Bulldozer

A used D7 Caterpiller bulldozer has been acquired, initially on a 60 day lease purchase agreement, to assist in community development of "farm-to market" roads throughout the area which also will improve access to planned drill sites across the Cadan copper gold porphyry prospect.

Drilling the target is scheduled for the Second Quarter 2008. This is the second D7 in operation in the Comval project.

Grade intersections have been calculated using the arithmetic mean of all samples within the intersection length with no values cut.

All sample preparation was undertaken by McPhar Geoservices (Phil) Inc at its General Santos facility in Southern Mindanao. McPhar is an ISO 9001 certified laboratory. Channel samples are pulverized and 200 gram sub samples are sent to McPhar Geoservices (Phil) Inc Manila laboratory. McPhar is an ISO 9001 certified laboratory. Analysis using the PM3 method (Fire Assay, Gravimetric (0.05 ppm) finish for gold and conventional wet chemical method (GA-1) for copper is carried out. The Laboratory mentioned in this paragraph provides independent analytical services to the company on normal commercial terms.

Cadan Resources Corporation is a junior exploration Company with operations in the Philippines and Colombia and trades on the TSX Venture Exchange (Canada) with trading symbol CNF-V.
