Calgary Food Bank: Association of Alberta Registry Agents Launches "Quarters for Cartons" Campaign

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 10, 2010) - The Association of Alberta Registry Agents (AARA) will help support the Calgary Food Bank and Calgary recycling efforts with a new campaign launching this month in Calgary area registry offices.

The Quarters for Cartons campaign will see new specially marked donation boxes at all registry locations throughout Calgary. Registry agents will be encouraging clients to drop a donation in the box to help cover recycling costs on milk cartons.

This year the Calgary Food Bank will distribute more than 160,000 containers of milk to those in need through the Emergency Food Hampers, Prenatal Hampers, Children's Milk Program and the Macleod Dixon Milk for Teens Program. More than $40,000 is needed just to cover the cost of the recycling deposit on these milk containers.

Every 25 cents contributed will cover the recycling fee for one container of milk and will help the Calgary Food Bank continue providing nutritious milk through programs feeding hungry Calgarians.

Quarters for Cartons will be an ongoing campaign through the AARA.
