Calgary Food Bank: The Showdown for Calgary's Best Chili Heats Up This Sunday

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 25, 2009) - This Sunday at Homes by Avi's Walden Show Home the chili won't be the only heat in the kitchen. In the final battle of chili versus chili The Outriders Cheerleaders take on Global TV's Angela Kokott and Bruce McAllister.

On Sunday August 30, the beautiful women of the Stampeders Outriders will go head to head with Angela Kokott and Bruce McAllister from Global TV to see whose recipe will heat up Stampeders fans at the Labour Day Classic on September 7. Fans can meet the ladies and try the chili by visiting Homes by Avi's show home at 176 Walden Drive SE and bringing $2 donation or a non-perishable food item for the Calgary Food Bank. The cheerleaders and members of the Global TV morning show will be serving up helpings of their homemade chili from 1-3pm.

A donation will also get you a scorecard to judge each of the chilis and choose your favourite, the winner of Sunday's battle will go up against the winners from the two previous rounds to see who has the best chili recipe. The winning chili recipe will be served at the "Labour Day Classic" game between the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos on Monday, September 7th.

Last Sunday The QR77 Morning Team, helmed by Scott Coe, took on Peni Hufnagel's vegetarian chili with Scott's spicy recipe coming out the big winner. He joined Stampeders' player Rob Coté and his mom's sweet chili recipe from week 1 in the running for the final glory. Will the feisty ladies of the Outriders bring their special spice to the chili for a shot at the big win? Or will Angela and Bruce have a recipe that will claim victory and the spot in the finals? It's in your hands Calgary!
