Callinan to Drill at Sneath Lake

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 30, 2007) - Callinan Mines (TSX VENTURE:CAA) has mobilized crews and equipment to their Sneath Lake property near Snow Lake, MB in preparation for drill testing. Previous exploration on the Sneath Lake property has produced intersections of 1.1% copper and 3.5% zinc hosted in sulphides. After completing a VTEM survey on the property this past spring, the company is looking forward to testing deeper targets in a 1,000 m drill program.

"This property is on the same horizon as the Anderson Lake mine," Callinan chief of exploration Pat Deveaux explained. "The grade at Anderson Lake improved at depth, and we've had similar alteration in the previous samples from Sneath. The work done on the property to date has given us very good targets."

The deeper look at Sneath Lake comes as the Snow Lake area sees increased attention after new discoveries by both HudBay Minerals at Lalor Lake, and VMS Ventures at Reed Lake. The Snow Lake / Flin Flon greenstone belt is the host of numerous ore bodies containing high grade copper, zinc, gold and silver mineralization in volcanogenic massive sulphides.

After drilling Sneath Lake, Callinan plans to mobilize a drill crew to their Fox River property north of Thompson. Positive mobile metal ion geochemical anomalies have recently indicated that several sub-surface conductive targets may be metal bearing. The program will be underway as soon as the company obtains permits.
