Calloway Real Estate Investment Trust Closes $75 Million Series D Senior Unsecured Debenture Issue

Calloway Real Estate Investment Trust ("Calloway") (TSX:CWT.UN), Canada's largest owner of large format unenclosed retail properties, announced today that it has closed the issue of $75 million principal amount of Series D senior unsecured debentures announced on June 17, 2009. The debentures carry a coupon rate of 7.95% and will mature on June 30, 2014. The offering involved a syndicate of agents co-led by RBC Capital Markets and CIBC World Markets Inc. and included BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., TD Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc. RBC Capital Markets acted as sole bookrunner. Dominion Bond Rating Service has provided Calloway with a credit rating of BBB with a stable trend relating to the debentures. Calloway will use the net proceeds from the offering of approximately $74.3 million to pay down amounts outstanding under its current credit facilities.
