Cambridge NanoTech Celebrates Entering Korean ALD Marketplace

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - June 20, 2010) -  Cambridge NanoTech, the world leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), today announced that they have sold their first ALD system into Korea. The Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) is Korea's premier research facility that shares its state-of-the-art research equipment and laboratories to promote the development of science and technology through research support and cooperation.

"Cambridge NanoTech is looking forward to working with KBSI on their advanced ALD research," said Ray Ritter, Cambridge NanoTech COO. "We are excited to continue expanding our customer base into new locations and adding Korea to the list of the many countries using Cambridge NanoTech systems for their ALD research and development."

To support the growing Korean ALD market, Cambridge NanoTech has recently partnered with Korean distributor, SJ International. "Cambridge NanoTech ALD systems have an outstanding technical and support reputation parallel to none," said Shon B. Lee, President of SJ International. "We are pleased that SJ International will be representing Cambridge NanoTech in Korea," said Mr. Lee.

KBSI will be using the Savannah™ ALD in their research of applications that use ceramic substrates coated with aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide films.

The timing of this sale couldn't have been better. This week Cambridge NanoTech is attending the ALD 2010 conference in Seoul, South Korea, where our scientists will present ALD research on process optimization of low vapor pressure precursors and growth of low resistivity titanium nitride from metal-organic precursors.

About Cambridge NanoTech

Cambridge NanoTech delivers Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) systems capable of depositing ultra-thin films that are used in a wide variety of research and industrial applications. Our manufacturing ALD systems are used in the production of semiconductors, flat panel displays, photovoltaics and solid state lighting. Cambridge NanoTech research systems are used by world class scientists on five continents to study superior ALD film properties such as electrical, anti-bacterial, UV-blocking and anti-reflection.

About Korea Basic Science Institute

KBSI has the facilities and infrastructure to successfully undertake world-class, government-funded research. Our facilities include a high voltage electron microscope (HVEM), a high-field magnetic resonance spectrometer, a fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer (FT-ICR MS) and a high resolution secondary ion mass spectrometer (HR-SIMS). We will continue to develop our facilities in order for KBSI to become a leading world-class research facility with particular focus on Bio-technology (BT), Nano-technology (NT) and Environmental-technology (ET).
