Canada Pavilion at the Red River Exhibition

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) − The Canada Pavilion, the Government of Canada's travelling exhibit, is featured at the Red River Exhibition from June 18-27, 2010.

"The Government of Canada is pleased to bring the Canada Pavilion to the Red River Exhibition this year," said the Honourable Steven Fletcher, Minister of State for Democratic Reform. "The Pavilion provides an excellent opportunity for Canadians and visitors to learn more about government programs and services available to them and to find out more about its priorities."

The Canada Pavilion participates in various events across the country—travelling to each province once a year. It allows Canadians to meet face-to-face with Government of Canada representatives in an inviting, interactive and informative environment. The Canada Pavilion has won numerous prizes since its creation in 2000 and welcomed more than seven million visitors.

The theme of this year's Pavilion is Canada's biodiversity, recognizing that 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. Visitors will be able to learn more about programs and services related to biodiversity and participate in several interactive games. They will also be able to express their opinions on Canada's uniqueness at the National Capital Commission's exhibit.

Several government departments and agencies will be present at the Red River Exhibition, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, which will be promoting its mandate and biodiversity through the use of an interactive digital display, videos and corporate publications. Other departments featured are Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada and the National Capital Commission.
