Canada's Best in the Arts Support Sunnybrook's Night of Stars

Ross Petty producing show featuring Eva Avila, James Ehnes, Alan Frew, Jessica Holmes, Ron James and The National Ballet of Canada on May 17 to support Sunnybrook's Holland Centre

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2010) - Sunnybrook announced today that Canadian Idol Eva Avila, comedians Jessica Holmes and Ron James, Glass Tiger front man Alan Frew, The National Ballet of Canada's Sonia Rodriguez, Aleksander Antonijevic and Karen Kain and classical violinist James Ehnes will join producer Ross Petty on stage at Night of Stars. The tri-annual event, now in its 6th edition, will raise funds to help support Sunnybrook's Holland Orthopaedic & Arthritic Centre.

"We are thrilled that such amazing Canadian talent have thrown their support behind Sunnybrook's Holland Orthopaedic & Arthritic Centre," says Graham Hallward, co-chair, Night of Stars and member of the Holland Musculoskeletal Program Campaign Cabinet. "The Holland Centre is Canada's largest centre for joint replacement surgery, where the most severe cases are treated using techniques developed by our own specialists."

All money raised will fund a redeveloped state-of-the-art operating facility. This redevelopment will allow us to continue to provide the exceptional hip and knee care for which Sunnybrook is renowned.

"The Night of Stars committee and producer Ross Petty have worked tirelessly to ensure that this is the best Night of Stars events to date," says Jeff O'Hagan, senior vice-president development at Sunnybrook Foundation. "All of the proceeds raised will assist in building highly specialized operating suites to allow our surgeons to give back independence and a pain-free life to those who count on us, when it matters most."

Night of Stars will take place at the Princess of Wales Theatre on May 17, 2010. Tickets for Night of Stars are on sale now. Ticket prices start at $49 and can be purchased online at or by calling 416.967.8628.
