Canada's Second Largest Lottery Draw This Friday

LOTTO MAX Jackpot hits $50 Million + 9 MAXMILLIONS - additional prizes of $1 Million each

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 24, 2010) - With a whopping $59 Million in total top prize money to be won, this Friday's LOTTO MAX draw will go into the record books as the second largest in Canadian history.

Growing steadily since January 9, 2010 the LOTTO MAX jackpot this week reached its cap of $50 Million. Once the cap is reached the game enters "MAXMILLIONS mode", and players have the chance to win the $50 Million jackpot as well as additional $1 Million MAXMILLIONS prizes.

This Friday, February 26, the draw will include an estimated nine separate prizes of $1 Million each, giving players nine more opportunities to win a large prize with each ticket. Winning a MAXMILLIONS prize is similar to winning the main jackpot – a player must match all seven winning numbers drawn for that prize.

Should there be no jackpot winner this week, next week's draw could set a new record for prize money offered by exceeding $60 Million.

The previous top $50 Million LOTTO MAX jackpot (which featured 10 MAXMILLIONS) was won in November 2009 by Kirby and Marie Fontaine of Sagkeeng First Nation, northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
