Canada's Web Shop: Seventh Fastest Growing Company Moves to the Exchange, Sponsors Winnipeg Humane Society

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2010) - Canada's Web Shop (CWS), a full service online marketing firm, is pleased to announce it is the 7th fastest growing, as named by Manitoba Business Magazine. "We are very proud of this accomplishment. We were 13th last year and now we are 7th, so we are certainly headed in the right direction" says John McDonald, president and co-founder. CWS experiences growth even in tough economic times and they attribute this to their dedication to the momentum of the Internet as a vehicle for businesses connecting with customers, and conducting commerce. Continuing this exciting chapter, the business recently moved to Winnipeg's historic Exchange District, and complimented their expanding role in the community with the launch of the new Winnipeg Humane Society web solution www.winnipeghumanesociety.ca.

The Humane Society has most of the same online needs as any other organization. Doing business on the Internet is always evolving. "Organizations are realizing that customers are not using the yellow pages to find them, they are using Google and social media. Getting in front of prospects with a professional online brand can have significant impact on overall sales," says McDonald. Years ago businesses realized having an impressive website is important. Then they began to realize that tactics like search engine optimization (SEO) and pay per click advertising were necessary to increase traffic to their sites. Today businesses are seeing that social media such as Twitter, Facebook and corporate blogs are very important to a company's overall online brand. "We walk the talk at the Web Shop. We use all our online marketing tactics ourselves well before we offer them to customers, to ensure they produce maximum return on investment."

These tactics are certainly working. CWS recently made an exciting move to the Exchange District. "This move really made sense for us as a large number of our customers are located downtown and we ought to be where the action is," says McDonald. Justin Nedecky, Director of Operations and co-founder of CWS, adds "we are a growing company so we went looking for a space that can accommodate our future, as well as impress us with its style. And we figure the Exchange is attractive to new staff, a really hip place to be." CWS has renovated and taken over the building at 90 Albert, a building that was built in 1901 for just $6,000; how times have changed! "There's a great professional dynamic among the advertising and marketing agencies in this area. It's a great fit for us and our employees love it too," says Lyndsay Walker, Director of Online Marketing.

A new beneficiary of the firm's success is the prominent Manitoba charity Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS). CWS has partnered with WHS to assist the charity with all its online marketing initiatives, including a fully branded, customized website with an e-commerce store, allowing WHS staff to manage and update everything themselves. CWS will be providing ongoing consultation and support with social medial campaigns using Twitter, Facebook and the WHS blog. "WHS has always been close to my heart. Our family has had a humane society dog for 13 years and I could not be happier to support such a great organization" says McDonald. The WHS appreciates the relationship as well. "We have been truly impressed with the work that Canada's Web Shop has done for the WHS. Their professionalism and online marketing expertise has been a great asset to our organization and we look forward to working with CWS for a long time to come," says Jenelle Petrinchuk, Communications Coordinator, Communications & Public Affairs.
