Canadian Authors and Illustrators Educate and Inspire Local Children at MASC's Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference

Staffing Company Celebrates 10 Years of Sponsorship of this Popular Event

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) - Eagle Professional Resources (Eagle) has been a proud sponsor of The Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference organized by MASC for 10 years. This popular three day event begins today at St. Paul University and gives children the opportunity to connect with their creativity and learn by working with some of Canada's best children's authors and illustrators.

The conference, now in its nineteenth year, has gained a national reputation as one of the finest of its kind in the country. Every year, approximately two hundred (200) excited and eager students per day, in grades 4 to 8, from as far as Belleville, ON to Wakefield, QC, arrive at the event facilities to attend workshops with eight (8) authors and illustrators. During the two hour workshops, authors and illustrators showcase their own work, as well as guide students in exploring and discovering their own creativity and assist them with developing their skills. This year's line-up of writers and illustrators include: Tom Fowler, Ruth Ohi, Adrienne Kress, Caroline Pignat, Lee Edward Fodi, K V Johansen, Frieda Wishinski, and Richard Scrimger.

The response from the students is quite phenomenal and many will recount this amazing and memorable experience right into their adult years. The thank you letters received from participants of this event are extraordinary, as one young conference past-participant declared, "Thank you for the best day of my life!

"MASC's dynamic connections between artists, learning and young people are truly strengthened through Eagle's collaboration in the Young Authors and Illustrators Conference," said Audrey Churgin, Executive Director for MASC. "Eagle's support for students helps MASC give a real-life experience in the arts, establishing an important leadership role for the corporate community for the children MASC serves."

"After 10 years of sponsoring this event, we are still captivated by the excitement and drive that this group of young people exhibit!" said Kevin Dee, Eagle's CEO. "It is young passionate people who will become the future leaders of our society, I think every company should encourage these types of events."
