The Board of Directors, staff and members of the Canadian Chambers of commerce are thrilled to recognize Mr. Stewart and offer sincere congratulations to him and all his associates at Sun Life", added Mr. Beatty.

While delighted to be named International Executive of the Year, Mr. Stewart emphasized that Sun Life's success is due to the tremendous efforts of a great many Sun Life people and has been sustained by numerous individuals over decades. "Since our first foreign excursion, in 1880, our greatest strength has always been our people, including employees, advisors and business partners," he says. "Many individuals have played a critical role in helping Sun Life deliver excellence in all of our worldwide markets. I am grateful to the Canadian Chamber and pleased to accept this recognition on behalf of Sun Life." he added.

Mr. Stewart will be honoured by his friends, colleagues and business associates at a gala evening event in Toronto on November 27, 2007.
