Canadian Heritage: Secretary of State Kenney Joins in Celebration of Malanka, Ukrainian New Year

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 11, 2008) - The Honourable Jason Kenney, Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity), will attend the annual Ukrainian New Year (Malanka) Gala hosted by the Ukrainian Youth Association Plast tomorrow in Toronto, Ontario. Malanka is the Ukrainian folk holiday celebrated on January 13, which is New Year's Eve in accordance with the Julian calendar.

"This event gives us the opportunity to learn from each other, while celebrating our common Canadian identity," said Secretary of State Kenney.
