Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Appoints a New Executive Director

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2010) -

The President of CSCE, Mr. Gordon Jin, FCSCE, P.Eng, is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Douglas Salloum, B.Sc., MBA, PMP, to the position of Executive Director, effective January 18, 2010. In this capacity, Mr. Salloum will play a key role in promoting and developing the CSCE's vision and image and will interact with members, partners and engineering associations at both the national and provincial levels across Canada.

Mr. Salloum is a senior management professional with 30 years of domestic and international experience in the public and private sectors. He is known for his commitment to a sustainable future and to the establishment of international partnerships that are long term and mutually beneficial. A Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Saskatchewan and an MBA graduate from McGill University, Doug has a wealth of experience working in engineering, banking, and trade associations, most recently with the World Bank and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

Since 1887 the CSCE, a national volunteer organization, has provided member services to Civil Engineers. Civil Engineers plan, design, construct and maintain infrastructure that provides for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods, the fundamental networks that support our standard of living.
