Canadians Cheering Imminent Snow on New Years Day!

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 30, 2009) - Over 5" of snow means free trips for Canadians.

itravel2000, a Travelzest company, is waiting in anticipation for official snowfall measurements as it looks like snowy weather systems will roll in along with the New Year in Halifax and Montreal, according to The Weather Network.

If it snows more than 5 inches on January 1st, Canadians who booked their qualifying winter vacations with itravel2000 will get their trips for free! "Consumer anticipation is at a fevered pitch" said Stuart Morris, Group Vice President of Marketing, Travelzest. "We have consumers checking our website and calling us asking if we think it's really going to snow more than 5 inches and if they're going to get their trip for free. We will have to wait and watch and let Mother Nature decide."

Last year, Atlantic Canada got their vacations for free after it snowed more than 5 inches at the Halifax International Airport, while in the first year of the promotion Quebecers got their vacations for free when it snowed more than 5 inches at Montreal's Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport. "We've been thrilled to hand out cheques for the first two years of Let it Snow and we're hoping to do the same this year!" added Stuart.

Environment Canada meteorologists are currently reporting the following conditions for New Years day at each of itravel2000s snow points across Canada:

•Halifax – Flurries and rain showers. Low minus 5. High plus 1.
•Montreal – Snow. Low minus 3. High minus 2.
•Toronto – Periods of snow. Low zero. High zero.
•Calgary – A mix of sun and cloud. Low minus 20. High minus 2.

Canadian consumers who booked their qualifying vacation with itravel2000 have the chance to get their trip for free if more than 5 inches of snow falls at their weather station on New Years Day. The weather stations are Calgary International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Montreal/Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport and Halifax International Airport. Every qualifying customer's weather station was identified on their invoice. If it snows more than 5 inches, consumers will be reimbursed for the retail price of their package vacation, flight or hotel upon their return. To have been eligible for Let it Snow, Canadians must have booked their vacations between June 17 and November 24, 2009 for departures between November 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010.
