Capital Spending Recovery Delayed Until Late 2010 for North American Oil and Gas Terminals and Transmission Projects, an Industrial Info News Alert

BATON ROUGE, LA--(Marketwire - January 4, 2010) - Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The goalposts keep getting moved. Owners and operators of oil and gas terminals and transmission projects in North America are now looking to the second half of 2010 for a recovery in capital spending, according to Jesus Davis, Industrial Info's manager of oil and gas industry markets. "Six months ago, those owners and operators thought capital spending might return in the first half of 2010," Davis said. "Right now, and for the next six months, they're just trying to keep their doors open."

Davis was speaking to about 300 attendees at Industrial Info's "Twenty-Ten North American Industrial Market Outlook," held November 10 at the White Oak Plantation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Attendees represented a broad spectrum of industry equipment vendors, distributors, manufacturing firms, engineering and construction firms, labor unions, and financial service companies. The "Twenty-Ten North American Industrial Market Outlook" event coincides with the release of Industrial Info's 2010 Global Industrial Outlook that forecasts industrial spending for the upcoming year. Since 1993, IIR has published annual forecasts for capital and maintenance spending for the U.S. industrial market. This year marks the fifth time that Industrial Info has prepared industrial spending estimates for the global market.
