Carbon Sciences Announces Product Development Plan

Three-Phase Plan to Deliver Breakthrough Technology to the Market

SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwire - October 18, 2007) - Carbon Sciences, Inc. (OTCBB: CABN), the developer of a breakthrough technology to transform earth destroying carbon dioxide (CO2) into earth friendly carbon products, today announced its product development plan.

The Company's breakthrough technology, GreenCarbon™, is a patent pending carbon transformation technology that can convert harmful carbon dioxide into useful carbonate products for use in building materials, paper, plastics, fertilizers and other industrial applications.

To commercialize the GreenCarbon technology, Carbon Sciences has committed to the following three-phase product development plan:

Phase I: GreenCarbon Mobile Prototype - A prototype system for concept demonstration and chemistry optimization.

Phase II: GreenCarbon Mini-Pilot System - Complete small scale system for field test and scalability optimization.

Phase III: GreenCarbon Pilot Plant - Full scale system for deployment adjacent to a coal-fired power plant.

The Company's Pilot Plant will serve as the basis for large commercial systems that can be deployed worldwide for multi-Giga Watt coal-fired power plants.

Coal, the most abundant and most polluting energy source on earth, accounts for 40% of total world electricity generation and over 25 billion metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. Current coal reserves are estimated to meet energy demands for several generations -- 285 years in the United States.

Derek McLeish, the Company's CEO, commented, "The continual use of coal to power global industrialization is an economic reality due to its abundance. It is unlikely that coal will be displaced by an alternative energy source anytime soon. Therefore, an immediate solution must be employed to reduce coal induced CO2 emissions. By doing so, coal can be a clean energy source for generations to come. We believe our GreenCarbon technology is that solution. We believe that transforming CO2, an industrial byproduct, into a useful raw material is the most sensible solution over other approaches like carbon credit or geologic and ocean carbon sequestration. We are very excited about the prospects of completing our Mobile Prototype before the end of this quarter."
