Cartesis 10 Adds Scorecards, Dashboards and Web-Based Analysis to the World's Most Powerful Performance Management Solution

New Release of Cartesis Analytics Combines Intuitive Visualization With Powerful Analysis to Meet the Diverse Needs of Executives, Managers and Operational Users

NORWALK, CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 16, 2006 -- Cartesis, the world's leading specialist in finance and performance management software, today introduced a new release of Cartesis Analytics, an important component of the company's full performance management solution, Cartesis 10.

With dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards and Web- and Microsoft Office Excel-based analysis capabilities, Cartesis Analytics enables organizations to easily and quickly deploy the trusted information from Cartesis applications to large numbers of distributed users. Full financial intelligence ensures that information will always be presented as users expect, and zero latency enables earlier visibility into results, thus reducing closing and planning cycles. A variety of drill-down and drill-through options as well as sophisticated exception monitoring allow users to investigate performance and identify specific organizational dynamics, trends and events and the drivers behind them. Cartesis Analytics applications may be created by business users without intervention from IT and are built on an open, standards-based infrastructure able to access statutory, operational, financial and non-financial information including industry benchmarks.

"We have successfully deployed the current version of Cartesis Analytics at France Telecom today," says Djamel Benallal, Management Information System director at France Telecom. "We are excited to see that Cartesis is adding real-time graphical and interactive dashboards that embed all the richness and quality of Cartesis Finance information."

Cartesis 10's integrated data model (IDM), a rich repository and "single source" for financial and operational management information, is shared by Cartesis Analytics, Cartesis Finance and Cartesis Planning. Additionally, Cartesis Analytics can be configured to access data sources outside of Cartesis applications, providing a rich combination of information. Cartesis Analytics dashboards can also be embedded within Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server and Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005. This flexibility and smooth integration allows users to remain within familiar working environments, promotes rapid integration and adaptation, and encourages application use and collaboration with colleagues.

"We are delighted to see the release of Cartesis Analytics," says Rob Bernard, general manager of the Worldwide ISV Group at Microsoft Corp. "Cartesis is an innovative Microsoft industry partner and active participant in our Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 early adopter programs that has chosen to develop products that rely on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and easily integrate with other Microsoft technologies. This seamless integration between Cartesis and the Microsoft platform gives customers an exciting opportunity to make the most of their technology investments and enables their employees with solutions to manage their businesses more effectively."

"Traditional BI solutions provide scorecards and dashboards that let users observe static, historical performance of their business," says Crispin Read, CMO of Cartesis. "With Cartesis 10, if a user spots an unexpected condition, action is a mouse click away. If plans do not fit current business conditions, they can immediately be changed. If an entity submits new Actuals during a financial close -- they are available for analysis and reforecasting in real time."

"Organizations that invest in performance management solutions will naturally look to expand the value of these applications enterprise-wide," says John Van Decker, VP Corporate Performance Management and Financial Management Systems at Gartner. "Companies are just now learning how to distribute the control and intelligence embedded in financial applications to a wider range of executive, financial, business and operational users."

To be generally available November 2006, the enhanced version of Cartesis Analytics is based on the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 platform and embeds technology from Panorama Software, a leading innovator of enterprise business intelligence solutions.
