Cartier Resources Inc.: Drill to Test Gold Showing on Lac Castagnier Project

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 13, 2007) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR)("Cartier") is pleased to announce that it is currently testing a historic gold showing on its Lac Castagnier property. This initial one-hole program aims at confirming the historic (4.97 g/t Au over 1.52 meters) gold prospect, testing the targeted structure and further characterizing the mineralized system.

The Castagnier property is located 22 kilometers northeast of Amos. It is 100% owned by Cartier and consists of 30 contiguous claims totaling 1 270 hectares straddling the boundaries of the Castagnier-Duverny townships. The southern portion of the property hosts three mineralized drill hole intersections. These intersections are located within a cluster of eight diamond drill holes dating from 1984 to 1987 programs. The best reported intersections include 4.97 g/t Au over 1.52 meters, 2.4 g/t Au over 1.52 meters and 1.37 g/t Au over 1.52 meters.

Cartier has reviewed all available information and has identified a two-kilometer trend that hosts the mineralization. It also believes that previous drilling orientation was not optimal to define the mineralized system.

Additional diamond drilling along the structure is contingent upon results of Cartier's first hole on the property. Drilling is also planned on the company's Dieppe-Collet and Bapst properties to follow-up on historical Au intersections in drill hole.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance / Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are performed by Techni-lab (Sainte-Germaine) and ALS-Chemex, accredited laboratories located in Val d'Or, Quebec.
