Castillian Intersects 36.9 Meters Grading 0.75% Nickel and 0.33% Copper, Which Includes 7.1 Meters Grading 1.56% Nickel and 0.53% Copper at the Mangabal South Nickel-Copper Deposit, Brazil

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2007) - Castillian Resources Corporation (Castillian) (TSX VENTURE:CT) has intersected 36.9 Meters grading 0.75% Nickel, 0.33% Copper, and 0.02% cobalt at the Mangabal South Deposit, this intersection includes 6.6 Meters grading 0.97% Nickel, 0.37% Copper and 0.03% cobalt and also includes 7.1 Meters grading 1.56% Nickel, 0.53% Copper and 0.05% Cobalt in diamond drillhole CRMS-07-035.

In addition, drill hole CRMS-07-036 intersected 20.2 Meters grading 0.87% Nickel, 0.38% Copper, and 0.03% cobalt including 4.1 Meters grading 1.28% Nickel, 0.96% Copper and 0.04% cobalt and also includes 7.5 Meters grading 1.11% Nickel, 0.37% Copper and 0.04% Cobalt.

Independent third party resource estimations are in progress with the objective of completing a National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource estimate in the fourth quarter of this year. According to David Gower, P.Geo., Castillian's President and CEO, "We have decided to proceed with the independent third party resource estimates, even though the Mangabal South Deposit remains open at depth. As all of the intersections to date have been at relatively shallow depths, ranging from surface to approximately 175 meters vertical depth, it has been possible to cost effectively drill the deposit in sufficient detail to produce a meaningful initial resource estimate, which can be regularly updated as new drill information is received. Completing the resource estimate is expected to provide the foundation for other scoping and prefeasibility related activities such as metallurgical testing, mining options, environmental base line and permitting issues, etc." Castillian is currently preparing samples representing end-member mineralization types for process mineralogy studies, expected to commence in October with SGS-Lakefield Geosol.

Assay results for five recently drilled holes from the Mangabal South Deposit including holes CRMS-07-035 and CRMS-07-036 are summarized in the following table (see releases dated May 16, April 24, July 4, July 24, and Sept 18, 2007 for previously released drill results):

Assays are currently pending for twenty-nine additional drill holes on the Mangabal South deposit and will be reported as results become available.

Quality Control

The company employs a QA/QC protocol on all aspects of the analytical procedures. Core samples are sawn and one half of the NQ core is restored to the core box for future reference and one half of the core is sent for analysis. Samples are taken in approx. 1.0 -metre intervals or less. Sample preparation is completed at the SGS Lakefield preparation lab in Goiania, Brazil and assayed at ALS-Chemex lab in Vancouver, Canada or SGS Lakefield Lab in Belo Horizonte, Brazil using multi-acid digest/ ICP-AES and AAS techniques. A blank sample is inserted every 40th sample and standard samples representing a range of grades are inserted at intervals of 1 in 20 samples. Five percent of pulps are re-analyzed at SGS Laboratory Services in Belo Horizonte, Brazil or ALS Chemex Lab in Vancouver, Canada. This is the same QA/QC protocol that was employed by Falconbridge (now Xstrata) in operating the project.

The Quality Control and all aspects of the exploration program is supervised by Castillian Exploration Manager, Joel Hrominchuk, P.Geo., who is a Qualified Person as defined under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Hrominchuk has reviewed the scientific and technical information in this press release.
