Celebrate the Season at Downsview Park's 7th Annual Fall Fair-A Celebration of Families With the Macaulay Child Development Centre

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2007) - Downsview Park offers intimate and interactive experiences with nature and quality family time at its 7th annual Fall Fair on Sunday, October 14, 2007, in partnership with the Macaulay Child Development Centre.

This family-friendly free event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are welcome to experience nature at its best by planting an assortment of 2,000 trees throughout the park, tour the grounds in a traditional wagon ride, pet and feed a variety of animals on site and exercise creativity in carving pumpkins and making scarecrows. Additional activities include face painting, buskers, and a puppet show as well as live performances by Cindy Cook from the Polka Dot Door Literacy Show, Pan Fantasy Steel Drum Band, and folk trio The Good Lovelies.

"Downsview Park invites the community at large to celebrate the season and participate in our 7th annual free Fall Fair. We're pleased to partner with the Macaulay Child Development Centre who shares our passion for people," said Tony Genco, President and CEO of Parc Downsview Park Inc. (PDP). "The fall presents a time of thanksgiving and an opportunity to harvest the crops and enjoy the colours and crisp air of the great outdoors. Participants are also welcome to take home their prized pumpkins as a reminder of the fun had at Downsview Park."

In celebration of its 75th anniversary and in the spirit of Downsview Park celebrating Canada's mosaic brilliance, as reflected in PDP's vision statement, the Macaulay Child Development Centre is pleased to partner with PDP with this year's Fall Fair and feature a reading corner where members of its team and the Toronto Argonauts will read children's stories in a variety of languages such as Spanish, Chinese, Somali, Urdu and Twi - to name a few. The Macaulay Child Development Centre also brings CTV's Marci Ien to emcee stage performances.

"Macaulay is delighted to launch our 75th anniversary year with this celebration at Downsview Park. It is a great opportunity to bring our communities and families together to have fun while honouring 75 years of helping children reach their full potential," said Sharon Filger, Executive Director of Macaulay Child Development Centre.

Downsview Park consists of 572 acres of land in the heart of the Greater Toronto Area.
