Central Illinois Bank Names J. Brian Chaffin as New Market President for Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, IL--(Marketwire - January 13, 2010) - Central Illinois Bank today announced that J. Brian Chaffin of Indianapolis has been named the new Market President of the bank's twelve branches in Illinois. Chaffin replaces current Market President Joe Henderson. Henderson will assist during the transition and continue to provide strategic consultation to the bank.

"We look forward to welcoming Brian and his family to the Champaign area, and we are most grateful for the important efforts and assistance that Joe Henderson has provided during his service as Market President for Central Illinois Bank. Brian will find a vibrant community and a strong team of co-workers at the bank, and we are pleased that he has accepted these new responsibilities," said John P. Hickey, Jr., chairman of CIB Marine Bancshares, Inc., the bank's holding company.

Chaffin has worked for CIB Marine Bancshares for about 12 years and has been Market President of the Indiana operation since mid-2006. Chaffin will assume his new responsibilities and relocate to the Champaign area immediately. He will continue to oversee the activities of the Indianapolis branch in addition to his Illinois responsibilities."I am excited about moving to Champaign and am glad that I will be able to turn to Joe Henderson for advice and guidance during this transition. Joe has done a superb job, and it will be good to have him available during this time," said Chaffin.

Hickey said that the consolidation is part of an overall company effort to become more efficient as the bank continues to implement a new business strategy.

"Streamlining our company is an important part of how we strengthen our balance sheet, and we are confident that Brian will do an excellent job as we continue to grow and build a better bank and add to the record that Joe Henderson has established," Hickey added.
