Certified General Accountants Look to the Books

Festival and readings partner brand alliance struck between Ontario certified general accountants and International Readings at Harbourfront events

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 27, 2007) - The Certified General Accountants of Ontario is pleased to announce its new sponsorship of the International Readings at Harbourfront program, which includes the world-renowned International Festival of Authors, scheduled from October 17 to 27, 2007.

"At first glance this might seem an unusual sponsorship choice," indicates Delmarie Scherloski, director of public affairs for CGA Ontario. "However, as an organization we're often innovators and trailblazers, including doing our part to break the stereotype of accountants as 'bean counters,' through such initiatives as our popular advertising campaigns.

"CGA Ontario and CGAs understand the importance of effective communications, a key competency for success in business," Scherloski continues. "We're pleased to have this opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the communication of ideas and vision, through sponsorship of this prestigious festival and year-round program."

This year marks the 50th anniversary (http://anniversary.cga-ontario.org/) of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario, as well as the 28th edition of the International Festival of Authors (http://www.readings.org/). This celebrated event, which supports presentations by internationally based, multicultural authors, is also reflective of CGA Ontario's own diverse membership, with CGAs found in every region and every sector of the province.
