ChannelNet Helps Paint and Decorating Retailers Tap Online Shoppers

SAUSALITO, CA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) -  ChannelNet showed home improvement retailers that you don't have to be a Web expert to reach online shoppers. ChannelNet staff attended Benjamin Moore's annual product fairs throughout North America to educate retailers about a new Retail Website Program. The program delivers a customizable Web solution for each retailer, while integrating the full benefits of Benjamin Moore's branding and product information.

To build awareness and excitement for the program, ChannelNet sponsored a drawing for retailers who enrolled in the Retail Website Program. Each enrollee received a $100 gift card and was eligible to win a trip for two to Las Vegas. Independent retailer Elgin Mills Paint & Decor, from Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, won the Las Vegas trip.

Store owners Dimitra Chronis and her husband, Chris Marks, opened Elgin Mills Paint & Decor 18 months ago and, from the beginning, knew they wanted and needed an online storefront. The Retail Website Program gave them the expertise, tactical support, and ongoing customer service to accomplish that goal.

ChannelNet launched Elgin Mills Paint & Decor web site,, in February, expanding the store's presence as a local resource for customers of paint and home improvement products. "We're delighted to have a professional looking site up and running so quickly. It was easier than I imagined," says Dimitra. "We're excited to add photos and more of our own information."

"We take care of the hard part for retailers who want to offer customers an easy online-to-in-store shopping experience. In this case, the goal is to capture online shoppers in the market for home improvements and use the retailer's website to encourage them to visit the store," says Paula Tompkins, ChannelNet CEO and Founder. "We provide home improvement retailers with a turnkey digital marketing package, so they can focus on running their business. Retailers simply enroll with ChannelNet and, truly, within hours they receive a customized 'virtual store front' that showcases locations, staff, products, services, special events, and countless other features."

Once a website is launched, ChannelNet's eBusiness Support Center (eBSC) provides training and other support services. Retailers can update their own website via a user-friendly administration tool, or ChannelNet's eBSC will make site updates for them. On the horizon for the Retail Website Program are plans to give retailers additional site and graphic design choices.
