Chateau Mont-Sainte-Anne Reaps the Results of its Eco-Responsible Development Efforts: Canada's First Hotel Engaged in LEED-EB Certification Process

BEAUPRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) - It's now official: Château Mont-Sainte-Anne, a member of the RéserVert network and holder of a "4 Green Key" eco-rating, is confirming its leadership in eco-responsible development by becoming the first hotel in Canada to register for the LEED-EB certification process.

LEED-EB renovation

The Roy family, owner of the Québec City-area hotel complex, recently launched its new ESPACENORDIK project, following an investment of more than $4 million in the eco-responsible renovation of 60 condo and studio units featuring the latest in resort design and comfort.

This project elevates Château Mont-Sainte-Anne into the front ranks of Canadian hotels engaged in modernizing an existing building by applying the highest LEED-EB (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design/Existing Buildings) standards.

Grand Prix du Tourisme québécois 2010 for sustainable tourism

Last month, Château Mont-Sainte-Anne won the 2010 Grand Prix du tourisme québécois in the "Sustainable Tourism" category for the Québec City region.

Since buying the hotel complex in 2005, the Roy family has embarked on many initiatives to transform its establishment into a true model of sustainable development and responsible tourism.
