Chautauqua Capital Ramps Up Management Team

Boutique Investment Firm Secures Veteran Wall Street Executive

BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - January 5, 2010) - Chautauqua Capital Management (Chautauqua), a premier manager of International Growth and Global Growth Equity products for qualified investors, today announced the appointment of John F. Lynch as the firm's Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Lynch will immediately assume responsibility for day-to-day company operations, client relations, and business development. He will work with Brian Beitner, CFA, Chautauqua's founding partner, to build investment management relationships with sub-advised product sponsors, corporate pensions, public pensions, family offices, endowments, and foundations.

Boulder-based Chautauqua was formed in 2009 by Mr. Beitner and a group of investment professionals with whom he had worked at Trust Company of the West, including Michael Mow, CFA, and Amanda Prentiss. All members of the professional staff at Chautauqua are principals with the firm.

"Having a well-regarded professional like John Lynch onboard with us is a particularly positive development for Chautauqua Capital Management," said Beitner. "John's depth of experience will go a long way toward enabling the firm to continue to deliver positive results for our investment management clients."

Mr. Lynch, who started his investment management career in 1989, came to Chautauqua from Franklin Templeton Investments, where he was an Institutional Portfolio Manager focused on global and non-U.S. equity strategies. His previous experience includes institutional investment and pension management positions with Merrill Lynch, Barclays Global Investors, and Scudder, Stevens & Clark, where he worked with Mr. Beitner. Lynch holds a BA in Geology and Spanish Literature from Denison University, and an MBA from the University of Denver. He is a 2010 Level III CFA candidate.

"Everything in my experience tells me Chautauqua's investment talent and organizational culture represent a distinct competitive advantage in the marketplace for the firm and its portfolios," says Lynch. "I'm eager to get the Chautauqua story to the consultants and investors who will benefit by knowing it."

Chautauqua's investment results date back to the beginning of 2006 when the original international equity portfolios were constructed and funded. Guided by a strategy that is built for investment advantage, composite numbers for Chautauqua's Capital International Growth strategy rank first in its International Equity peer group from inception for absolute return and alpha, according to eASE Analytics Evestment ALLIANCE.

The firm accepts retail or institutional accounts beginning at $25 million.
