Chemical Industry Project Cancellations Decline Again in 2007, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - December 28, 2007) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The total investment value of capital and maintenance projects originally planned to begin construction this year, but placed on hold or canceled fell by more than $600 million or 27% compared with 2006. This group of 126 Chemical Processing Industry projects had an estimated value of $1.6 billion and equaled delays or cancellations in 38 states and provinces. Although this number might sound high, it represents the second consecutive year that cancellations have decreased and equals only a fraction of the active projects that got underway this year.
