Chemokine Therapeutics Completes Patient Recruitment of CTCE-9908 Phase I/II Clinical Trial

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2007) - Chemokine Therapeutics Corp. (the "Company") (TSX:CTI)(OTCBB:CHKT), a biotechnology company developing chemokine-based therapies to treat cancer, blood disorders, and vascular diseases, announced today that the Company has completed recruitment of its Phase I/II clinical study using its lead compound CTCE-9908 with late stage cancer patients. Dosing is expected to be completed by the end of October 2007 with results reported by the end of the year.

The Phase I/II clinical study involved testing CTCE-9908 in up to 30 patients with late stage cancers to evaluate safety and preliminary efficacy. The trial studied patients with some of the most common cancers such as breast, lung, prostate, and ovarian.

"This trial is an important milestone for the Company as it is the first investigation of CTCE-9908's safety and ability to reduce the spread of cancer in humans after several doses," said C. Richard Piazza, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

The Company plans to initiate an international multi centre Phase II study following the review of the Phase I/II results.

About CTCE-9908

CTCE-9908 is a peptide analog of the chemokine SDF-1, and an antagonist of its receptor, CXCR4. SDF-1 is the only known naturally occurring chemokine that binds to CXCR4, which is present on many cancer cells. This binding process is believed to be critical in the metastasis (or spread) of cancer cells to distant locations in the body, where they form secondary tumors. Approximately 90% of cancer deaths are due to metastasis. We believe that CTCE-9908 has the potential to reduce or delay the metastatic process.
