Chia -- Rediscovered Miracle Seed Is the World's Most Perfect Food

Feel Good for Life™ -- Chia Has More Omega-3 Than Salmon, More Calcium Than Milk, More Iron Than Spinach, and It's 23% Protein

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - April 25, 2008) - A University of Toronto study confirms that chia is more effective than the expensive and risky medications currently used for decreasing blood pressure, thinning blood, reducing inflammation, controlling blood sugar, etc. Finally a study that confirms what the health community has been saying for decades: Chia is the nutritional super food for people of all ages, from babies to baby boomers.

People just don't see many other foods that can do what chia can. Vladimir Vuksan, lead researcher on the study and associate director of the Clinical Nutrition and Risk Factor Modification Centre at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, explains, "You add this to any food, even bad food, and it will improve your health."

Participants in the study were type 2 diabetes patients. Doctors observed the following within three months: clotting factors dropped 20%, levels of C-reactive protein (a key marker of inflammation) fell 30%, systolic blood pressure dropped six units.

Dr. Amir Hanna, a diabetes specialist who reviewed the study, noted, "That's a very important reduction in blood pressure. Actually, some pills don't lower blood pressure that much."

These results are staggering, but the benefits of chia don't stop there. 100 grams has as much omega-3 fatty acid as a 32-ounce Atlantic salmon steak, as much magnesium as ten stalks of broccoli, as much calcium as 2 1/2 cups of milk, and as much iron as half a cup of kidney beans. Chia naturally contains the highest percentage of omega-3 of any commercially available source. It is also high in vitamins and in fiber while low in calories (which makes it excellent for weight loss and intestinal cleansing).

Chia lowers the risk of heart disease, blurred vision, and numbness; and is effective in treating wounds, colds, sore throats, digestion problems, PMS, body odor, prostate problems, and constipation. It benefits both men's health and women's health; and also has anti-aging properties.

Chia has no odor, doesn't go rancid, is easy to store, easy to use. It can be sprinkled on things as a condiment, or used in cooking and baking -- and it has very little flavor, so it won't alter the taste of recipes.
