Chief Warrant Officer George Hughes Invested as a Member of the Order of Military Merit

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 6, 2009) - On behalf of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, His Honour the Honourable Norman L. Kwong, the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, presented the insignia of Member of the Order of Military Merit to Chief Warrant Officer George Hughes, M.M.M., C.D., today, in Edmonton, Alberta. The ceremony took place in the Lieutenant Governor's Suite of the Alberta Legislature Building.

The Order of Military Merit recognizes distinctive merit and exceptional service displayed by the men and women of the Canadian Forces, both regular and reserve. Many have demonstrated dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty, and the Order honours them for their commitment to Canada.
