Children's Book Helps the Glasses-Phobic

Children's Book Author Rhonda Fischer Brings Self-Confidence to Those Facing a First Pair of Glasses

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) - An upcoming second edition of children's book Randy Kazandy will be released May 1, 2010, encouraging kids that it's okay to wear glasses.

Randy Kazandy, Where Are Your Glasses? -- a rhyming story by Author Rhonda Fischer about a boy who doesn't want to wear eyeglasses, was read by Former First Lady Laura Bush at a children's literacy event in February.

Inspired by Author Rhonda Fischer's personal experiences with a family member suffering with strabismus (crossed eyes), Fischer's brother-in-law wore eye patches, glasses, and endured two eye surgeries.

The story is designed to help kids learn how to overcome the challenge of wearing glasses through Randy's motto "I love being me" -- a quote from the book.

The second edition will include a new illustrated page and give instructions on how to play a game to find glasses hidden in pages throughout the book.

Meet Rhonda Fischer in person at the following upcoming public event:
