Chinese Thermal Power Plants Experiencing Meager Profits, Losses, an Industrial Info News Alert

BEIJING--(Marketwire - December 27, 2007) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Nearly half of China's thermal power plants have either had meager profits or experienced a profit loss because of surging coal prices, according to a China Electricity Council (CEC) report recently submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). In the report, the CEC suggests raising the price of electricity in the first half of 2008, as the price of coal for power enterprises has risen by 8.9% from January to September this year.
