ChristmasFuture: Local Yoga Community Helping to Change the World

Hit the mat to end extreme poverty

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2009) - On November 15th, 2009, yoga practitioners in Calgary, AB will participate in OneYoga-a 108 minute yoga event that raises money to help end extreme poverty.

Online pledging in support of participants at www.christmasfuture.org/oneyoga goes to support holistic and sustainable development projects that are helping communities in the developing world climb out of extreme poverty.

"OneYoga is a wonderful opportunity for Calgarians to live their yoga and make a positive impact on the world," says Saro Bunting, the OneYoga event planner. "We are extremely excited to build on the success of last year's event, creating a meaningful yoga experience for more participants and raising more funds to change the world for good!" says Bunting.

In Calgary, AB, OneYoga will draw together over 350 participants at the Telus Convention Centre. Led by certified yoga instructors, the event caters to yoga practitioners of all skill levels and ranges of experience. The inaugural 2008 event saw 225 participants and raised $15,620 for integrated community development projects.

ChristmasFuture, a web-based nonprofit organization, is facilitating the online pledging for OneYoga. 100% of funds raised through OneYoga will go to projects that help end extreme poverty. Some example projects would be ending child labour in the mines of Potosi, Bolivia or a project educating children in Sierra Leone.
