Cineplex Entertainment: A New Theatre For Milton, Ontario Job Fair Takes Place This Weekend

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 26, 2006) - Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN) is pleased to announce that construction is nearing completion for the new Galaxy Cinemas Milton. The 8-screen cinema complex is located at 1175 Maple Ave. (at highway 401 and Steeles Ave. E.) and will welcome its first guests next month.

"We have been looking forward to bringing a state-of-the-art theatre to Milton for some time now," said Pat Marshall, Vice President of Communications and Investor Relations for Cineplex Entertainment. "Galaxy Cinemas Milton will be fantastic and we're excited that Milton residents will have an exceptional entertainment destination in their great community."

The new Galaxy Cinemas Milton will cost about $6 million to build and has created a variety of job opportunities in Milton. The six-month building process has created over 125 new construction jobs and will offer more than 50 permanent and part-time jobs once the theatre opens.

"Theatres attract people of all ages from far and wide, increasing traffic to the nearby businesses," said Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz. "It is great for Milton to have its own cinema complex that will be enjoyed by both the residents of Milton and visitors. This theatre also offers a great employment opportunity for many young people, often in their first job."

A job fair is being held this weekend for various part-time positions at the theatre, such as: Box Office, Food Service and Guest Service. Interested applicants, who are 16 years of age or older, can apply. Bring your resume to the Ramada Inn & Suites, 161 Chisholm Drive, Milton. The two-day job fair takes place:

Friday, May 26th: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 27th: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new Galaxy Cinemas Milton will feature all stadium seating (each seat row will be 18" higher than the previous row); wall-to-wall, giant, curved screens; large, luxurious seats with ample legroom; and Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The concessions include traditional movie fair such as popcorn, candy and soft drinks in addition to fresh cut fries and hot dogs at Outtakes; pizza by Pizza Pizza; specialty coffees; and a wide selection of low-fat and no-fat frozen yoghurts and premium ice creams at Yogun Fruz. The Zero Gravity family entertainment centre will offer a number of interactive video games and activities and is accessible without the purchase of a movie ticket.
